Bill Barr, has very kindly sent some photographhs of his time with the Bowater Steamship Co.

Officers on the Nicolas Bowaters maiden voyage.
This photograph was taken on the Nicolas Bowater during her maiden voyage. In the picture which was taken in the officers dining saloon for a publicity story by an Australian newspaper that Bowaters delivered newsprint to, it shows 2/O Stan Hay, 3/O Bill Barr and C/O Al Chalmers. The chefs name I cannot remember. If someone can help I would appreciate it. Here is another photo from the Nic and the Australian Voyage.3/O Bill Barr, a Bowater sales rep from the Sydney Office and Ch.Steward Joe Nugent.
